My fault:(
Thanks bpa for pointing me towards revisiting the settings and look at
plugins.
Contrary to my first message, I missed out that logging for one plugin
(WeatherTime) was set to 'Warn' and not 'Error'. Changed it back and
the logging problem seems to have gone.

It usually comes from a Plugin which is not returning the correct value
back to SC.
You should identify which Plugin is causing the problem by disabling
Plugins. When you have identified the Plugin - contact the author.

I've a new installation of SqueezeCentre 7 running on ClarkConnect 4.2.
All logging options are currently on and set to 'Error'.
Once an hour, server.log is filling up with tens of thousands of
identical messages generated over about 20 seconds:
