MAC is the only guaranteed unique id for a player, as the CLI is intended for computer rather than human consumption, readability isn't an issue. There are CLI commands to list the known players, you can use that in a script to map "friendly" name to MAC. -- radish -

Quick question: How come it's necessary to address the player with its MAC address rather than IP address or Player name? I do have two different receivers and wish to control only one of them through cron, but isn't it possible still to use the name as it's defined on the web, rather than MAC, or
