Hi
Why would I install a larger linux distro. Actually I prefer a small
and fast linux, which furthermore is optimized to run on a CF-card.
So for me the optimal system should be as small as possible - and here
voyage linux almost is perfect.
However, I'm still struggling with the minidlna setu

Hi
Just to inform you that there seems to be some problems running
minidlna on read-only voyage. It can't create the database, and I
haven't figured out yet how to solve this.
For now you need to run it in a writeable state: remountrw - then it
will create the database. Afterwards it is able to r

Should be lightweight, and all sorts of clients should be able to
access files. Microsoft machines included.

Luzifer - thank you for your help.
I managed to get samba running on voyage - also in read only mode (see

Thanks for the information.
I did not get this PERL error, but I also had edited the sources.list -
but did not know that it was important. So I added your information to
the HOW-TO.
Next I want to install a very small Samba server, I have been looking
at TNG-Samba (http://wiki.samba-tng.org/dok
I resolved the perl dependency described previously by:
editing /etc/apt/sources.list
and adding the line

All was going to plan until near the very last step when I ran into an

Hi, I have been trying to do a very small linux install for a thin
client as I want it only to be used as a Squeezebox server running

As the Thin client only have a CF-card for thr operating system (OS)
