You can try manually starting it, the command varies a bit depending on
your distro

Have you tried with '/etc/init.d/slimserver start' and looked at
/var/log/slimserver/slimserver.log? Perhaps having two terminal windows
with 'tail -f /var/log/slimserver/slimserver.log' in one and starting
slimserver from the other.

My slimserver ip is 192.169.1.101. To access the slimserver i am typing
192.169.1.101:9000 but nothing happens. When I
netstat -a | grep tcp
slimserver is not listed
[root /etc]# netstat -a | grep tcp
tcp0 0 *:ftp *:*
LISTEN
tcp0 37
As far as I know, most routers assign IP addresses starting at
192.168.1.1XX. If you network isn't very complex, and you're using
DHCP to assign IP addresses on your network, your machine running the
server is probably sitting at 192.168.1.101.
The router control console is usually located at 19
