After starting this thread I wrote directly to slimserver support. They
quickly corrected the problem on their end and I was able to get the
update.
I see they now have instructions to work around this issue in the
Wiki...but you still may want to write support if you can't figure it
out for you

I'm only a novice Linux user but I believe those three packages are
broken in the universe repository of edgy. The root cause seems to be
