Are you trying to stream from the same PC or to another PC? In your music player (anything but WMP) choose "open URL" or some such option. Type in "http://your-server-ip:9000/stream.mp3";. Say OK and hit play. Nothing will start yet. What this does is connects to the server and alerts it there is

When streaming on a local network you're typically looking for your 192.168.*.* address. Win2000/XP/Vista is Start, Run, CMD, ipconfig. 98/ME is Start, Run, winipcfg. Linux is "ifconfig" in a terminal. I think Mac OS X is the same. If you want to stream over the internet to a remote location it

Does Slimserver show that you have a player connected? After hitting "play" give your server about 30 seconds (just to be safe), and check the list of players. What client are you using? I do it effortlessly with XMMS. Winamp should work fine too. Haven't tried SoftSqueeze across the internet. -

I did a port forward on my router and it works fine. Have you opened 9000? Also, on your player/squeezebox make sure to hit the play button so the server recognized it's attached. Then you'll be able to add songs to it's playlist. -- notanatheist
