I would say all kinds of things are out of date and are not compatible.
God knows what was hacked together also, sounds like you have a non
standard directory structure seems that the logs arent even where they
should be.

Thanks.
No - can't update as it's a 'hacked' ubuntu for the tablet. I'm not
surprised it doesn't work as virtually no programs actually work other
than the ones that came with the distro.
Pity ... it would have been a nice solution to running sbs.
I've no idea why the apt-get update with the d
I dont know, it's a fairly old Ubuntu, you cant update it?

Strange .. there's nothing in the log folder referring to SBS ???
Surely, if there was a problem then there'd be a console message?

It's some time ago - I'll have to fire up the device to get to the
logs.
It's Ubuntu 9.04 on a smartq V5 tablet
I used the deb package installer.
I'll search the logs and report back.
Thanks.

Check /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log
I assume you'll see things like Squeezeboxserver died, Restarting etc.

Hi Castella,
I'm no Linux/Unix expert, but why run the .pl file, if there's a
startscript that does all the work for you?
I've been wrestling with Slimserver on a La Cie Networkspace (which
runs an ARM version of Linux) and the Slimserver installation package
comes with startscripts.

I installed the arm version of SBS. When I run the server file there
are no error messages.
However, when I check running services the server is not listed.
If anyone is willing to help or comment then I can post the exact
message I get when I run the slimserver.pl file.
