search for dhcp issue wifi repeater on the www if you didnt believe.
hi carsten_h,
I don't think there is a general problem with piCorePlayer like you
describe... if there was, lots of people would be complaining!
I use 2.4GHz wifi exclusively. I do a lot of my development on RPi's
over wifi and I reboot many times a day.
Of course, there could be a unique
Hello!
It is not a problem of the WIFI signal to have bad quality. It is only
that piCorePlayer is not getting an IP address via DHCP. The connection
quality itself is good!

I have many other devices using the 2.4GHz network and they are all
working fine at the same place and none of them had DHCP problems.

Had the same problem but then with one older android phone. Last week
microwave died, suddenly problem gone and then it hit me. Interference
on the 2.4Ghz band.
Not saying you're microwave is faulty but could it be a interference
from another device or equipment like microwave, handheld landline
After nearly two weeks working with the 5GHz network I can say that I
did not have a single problem getting an IP-address!

Yes, it is there. Into which value should I change it?
Although since changing to the 5GHz network everything is working fine.
Very strange!

I will look for it this evening (GMT+2) when I am back at home.

Sorry for leading you astray, it looks like these feature didn't get
fully into pCP4.1.0.
Can you see if there is a

I can not find it, even in beta. Is it only available with an external
Wifi adapter?
One thing I didn't mention ist that Bluetooth is switched off.

No, there is no Audio card. The piCorePlayer Pi has a Hifiberry DAC+
Pro.

This was added for some USB wifi adaptors that were very slow to
negotiate with DHCP. Unlike yours, these adaptors were always slow, not
intermittent.
If you dramatically increase this value it might give you an indication
Did you use the same audio card on the "another Pi 3B+ at the same place

Way back, I have seen problems with built-in wifi and some audio cards.
I would just add a USB wifi adaptor in this case and turn off the
built-in wifi.
I can't remember the exact combination of RPi
How many times did you restart Raspbian vs pCP. Your original post said
sometimes...With wifi, intermittent problems are almost always
signal strength issues.Raspbian might have better fault tollerance
with the many daemons running in the background. That is a trade off
when running

I tested another Pi 3B+ at the same place but with Raspbian running and
this Pi never had any problems
Hi,+
wlan repeater -> not the best solution
rpi 3 with onboard wlan without an external antenna -> not really a good
solution
both together -> args

I will look into the log of the main router (AVM) and the repeater (also
AVM) the next time the problem appears and will post it here.

I've heard of problems with Mesh systems. Most residential routers have
very poor logging, but it would be nice to know if it is even trying to
setup a WPA handshake.

It is 5m away from a Mesh-repeater, so I switched first yesterday to
5GHz to see if it makes any difference. The connection is good, I hope
that DHCP is working there.
Thank you for the help so far!

Looks OK to me.
How far away is pCP from the router?
I'd be inclined to try a USB wifi adaptor to see if its more reliable.

Ok, I will do! Yesterday it didn't connect a single time.

Every other device is getting an IP address via DHCP. And normally it is
working for this Raspberry also without any problem. I have also a Pi
zero with Raspbian and this is getting an IP Address every time.
There
hi carsten_h,
When you do connect, you need to run [Diagnostics] on the [Wifi
Settings] page.
Check signal quality and level. Also look at the ping tests, they should
be a few ms and reasonably consistent and 0% packet loss.
Have you noticed when it does connect how long it takes. Does it
You are not getting a DHCP address from your home router/server. Does
your router have any indications as to why? Try rebooting your router.

Hello!
I have a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with piCorePlayer and I enabled the WIFI
connection (LAN is not connected and not available at the place).
Most of the time the connection is working without any problems but
sometimes I am getting this:

What can I do to let the connection always be
