They will work closely within IT to ensure system stability and performance is at the highest possible levels. They will work with the Infrastructure and Architecture teams to ensure the best practices for a BI implementation are followed for both Data Warehousing and Enterprise Reporting. *Job Req: *Responsibilities •Administer multiple Cognos environments •Deploy BI Application reports/packages to all environments •Proactive approach to BI Application monitoring •Working with IBM for resolving PMRs •Understand, test and implement Software upgrade/fix packs to Cognos environment •Implement best practices for Cognos Environment Security •Configure new database connections and access control with the Cognos Administration tool •Participate in: o Cognos architecture o Cognos query tuning o Cognos capacity planning •Work closely with development and infrastructure groups to ensure system stability and monitoring •Performance tuning of the Cognos BI Components •As needed, Production support duties during off-hours and weekends * Required Skills* o Cognos BI Suite of Tools o Framework Manager o OLAP analysis and cube development •Experience with Dynamic Query Mode (DQM) and Compatible Query Mode (CQM) •Experience with Dynamic Cubing Services •Experience with SQL Server or DB2 Databases – Preferred •Ability to install/monitor/update in Windows environment •Experience with complex multi-server environments •Experience with High Availability environments (24/7) •Fundamental UNIX/Windows Scripting skills •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
