Job Title: Core Java Developer Location: New york City, NY Duration: 6+Month contract //////// Need local only F2F requires //////// Job Description: We are seeking a driven, self-motivated senior developer to be part of a global development team for the COBRA program. He/she will be working on COBRA---s reporting and monitoring platform team developing core platform features and enabling the reporting teams to effectively build regulatory reports utilizing the platform. The candidate will be responsible for participating in analysis, design, development, and testing of applications to support regulatory reporting. Some of the key projects for the team include building architecture components, application framework, and enable migration of applications from legacy to strategic COBRA architecture. The candidate needs to be willing to work in a fast paced environment dealing with high data volumes, aggressive regulatory SLAs and follow an Agile development methodology. Required Skills: Hands-on development experience of 5+ years Strong Java with minimum of 5 years Strong Object Oriented programming skills Strong SQL and database skills, preferably Sybase IQ and DB2 Experience with automated testing frameworks such as FitNesse and JUnit Experience of working on multi-tiered, large scale frameworks and applications Initiative/Ownership - The candidate must be self-motivated, with the ability to find creative solutions Communication - Possess strong verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills: Experience in .Net C# is a plus Experience with Columnar Databases, especially Sybase IQ, is a plus Experience working with an Agile approach to Software Development is a plus.
