Job Title : Hadoop Administrator Location : Southlake, TX Duration : 1 Year + Extendable Interview Mode : Phone / Skype Job Description: The EDA- Enterprise Data and Analytics systems administration team is primarily responsible for the smooth operation of ETL, BI and Big data systems and applications. We are looking to hire an Administrator to provide application and system support. The main role of this consultant will be to investigate and diagnose issues with ETL and Big Data systems, data, and processes as part of systems administration team. This individual will assist project teams with tasks associated with the Development, Deployment and Ongoing Support Maintenance phases of our standard Project Management Methodology in accordance with the documentation that is provided defining project scope and deliverables. Required Skills · Strong Java programming skills required. Other scripting skills, such as Python or Perl a plus · Strong experience on large-scale/distributed SQL, Hadoop, NoSQL, HBase, Columnar databases · Strong experience on Hadoop-related technologies, Hive, Impala, MapReduce, Spark, etc. · Strong experience on batch and streaming data sources with structured and unstructured data · Experience with enterprise level production environments · Experience building, upgrading and troubleshooting Hadoop systems. · Working knowledge of problem management and escalation processes · Hardware and Software Monitoring including Network performance · Experience developing of Capacity Plans · Experience with design, management, implementation of Backup, Disaster Recovery and/or High Availability solutions · Knowledge of Shell, Perl, Python or other scripting languages Preferred Skills · Experience with scripting for cluster environments (Puppet) · Hadoop Monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, CDH CM). · Securing Hadoop clusters.
