Job Title : Java RESTful API Developer Location : Stamford, CT Duration : 6+Months Contract | | Face to Face required | | Job Description: One of our client is looking for a Java RESTful API Developer Consultant with a proven track record of delivering server-side software development in a multi-tier, database / API event driven, Java environment. This includes writing and maintaining RESTful web services, and integrating with other APIs. You will be responsible for building reliable and scalable systems in an agile and test driven environment. Candidate must specialize in Java with experience in the development, maintenance, and testing of software programs. Responsibilities include Coding, testing, and debugging application programs from functional specifications. These individuals will work from program specifications or prototypes. Experience level 5+ years. Financial services experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities/Project Deliverables: Well designed, documented, unit testable, and supportable code delivered to Production environment that satisfies business requirements and expectations. Design and implement data abstraction for a number of existing data warehouses and applications to a new user interface employing services and caching. Work closely with tech leads, product managers, and business to design and implement incremental change. Provide third line support of the Market Risk Applications. Required: Highly competent developer with full lifecycle experience from analysis to delivery into production environment. 5 years of Java (Core, Servlets, JDBC) development experience Extensive experience with the Java (1.5.x +) programming language and server-side Java technologies (Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, Jersey) Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful web services Extensive experience with XML, Tomcat/JBOSS, Apache, Web Services, SOA and other distributed technologies and architectures Extensive experience using and developing interfaces to relational databases such as Sybase. Extensive experience using and developing interfaces to other data sources such as NoSQL. Object Oriented & Functional Programming skills Familiar with Distributed Services, Real-time, Event Driven, Event Bus, Sockets, Messaging & Parsing, and Netty Interested in Big Data / OLAP Data Flow / Lambda Architectures Knows about Performance, Scalability, Polygot Persistence, Simplicity, Scalability, Concurrency Familiar with Enterprise Integration Patterns and Patterns of Enterprise Application Architectures Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering preferably Computer Science Desirable: Good understanding of products traded within an investment Banks.
