Job Description: Main focus is a person with web development skills using
Java technology. That includes both web applications as well as web
services.
Primary project is to assist in creating a test automation portal where
developers and testers can submit and review test cases.
PURPOSE OF JOB NAVTEQ is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to
take part in a team that is building automated software testing tools and
platforms. The candidate will immediately be involved in efforts to create
automated tools for integration and web performance testing. Candidates
should possess developer skills, specifically in Java and scripting
technologies and SQL, but also have a testing mindset.
*GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES *
• Development and support of testing tools and test automation framework
components.
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, and developers to identify required
tool and component functionalities.
• Design and prototype testing components which are configurable and
scalable.
• Collaborate with other engineers on architecture, design, code, and
configuration reviews.
• Provide status reports to project managers describing accomplishments.
• Follow department quality assurance guidelines and processes.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS*
• Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of Java application design and coding experience. May substitute
equivalent experience with similar technologies or education.
• Strong knowledge of scripting languages.
• Demonstrated experience in Web Application development using Java
technology.
• Demonstrated experience in Web Services development using Java technology
is a plus.
• Familiarity with JavaFX technology a plus.
• Familiarity with test automation and automation frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with GIS systems and data is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Linux (RedHat), Unix (Solaris), and Windows.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and UML modeling tools.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Creative, problem-solving approach with developed multi-tasking ability.
• Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced and constantly changing
environment.
