*Senior Mainframe Test Analyst* *Duration: 5 Months*
*Location: *Bloomington, IL, US *Qualifications:* Our client is seeking an experienced IT professional with solid background as Mainframe software developer and functional test analyst. The preferred candidate should have a solid work history as a programmer/analyst developing and supporting business applications using standard IBM mainframe development tools including COBOL and DB2. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated work history providing functional testing for Enterprise level mainframe applications and helped lead institutional (Stakeholder) testing of custom software applications. The person chosen for this role will be expected to work closely with Stakeholders for application testing and guide them through testing activities. The individual will work closely with all areas of the enterprise to coordinate cross program dependencies, risks, technical issues, and environments. This coordination role is critical to managing the testing environments effectively to be shared by various Stakeholder groups due to the complexity of data dependencies for the various testing events. The person will use their mainframe development and testing experience to coordinate program level testing tests and provide test guidance and strategic test direction regarding the application designs and test infrastructure used for the various tests. The person chosen for this role must have excellent teamwork and communications skills. Position Responsibilities and Skills include: - IBM Mainframe application development experience (COBOL, PL/1, DB2, JCL, ETC) - Mainframe applciation testing experience (Functional, Regression, & System) - Experience with mainframe test infrastructure & test processing - Will work with test and application leadership and will assist test teams with handling and mitigating highly complex testing risks and issues - Understand strategic infrastructure architecture and identify gaps in testing standards, guidance and tooling - Strong communication skills (in English), both written and verbal, is required in order to partner with test resources, project teams and various levels of leadership - Will provide direction, guidance and mentoring to other test designers and analysts - Strong technical leadership and the ability to provide strategic direction to various test teams and resources - Work closely with the Environment Support team to manage the test environment updates and/or data refreshes, as well as potential impacts to the Testing plan/schedule for a given Testing phase - Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies and change controls affecting the Release Testing - Design, develop, test, debug, document, maintain, implement, and support mainframe applications/components - Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (SDLC) desirable - Create project test schedules, test plans, test cases, and other test deliverables - Experience with test result evaluation, documentation, and reporting - Experience with manual test case/script design and development Nice to Have Skills - Experience with web based software component designing, coding, testing, and quality review - Insurance backfroun in Auto, Homeowners or Life is preferred Vamshidhar 309-807-5439 vamshid...@gdatasol.com -- Thanks, Vamshidhar *Global Data Solutions, Inc.
