Position: Senior Oracle and SQL Server Data Modeler

Location: West Chicago, IL (need local who can travel to San Diego
sometimes)

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: $60-$65/hr Max

Job Purpose Summary: 

Design and develop data models to serve the needs of 's next generation
marketing platform, both from an OLTP and OLAP standpoint

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Study, document and reverse engineer an Oracle 10g database consisting of
complex data structures, thousands of tables in multiple schemas, triggers,
stored procedures and packages

Document the business rules embedded in complex PL/SQL code and database
triggers

Design and implement a high volume, high transaction OLTP database for's
next generation marketing platform in either Oracle or SQL Server. Design
should enable Aspen to meet its business targets of expanding into new
industry verticals and of leveraging a variety of marketing channels such as
social media

Design and implement a datawarehouse/datamart for analytical purposes in SQL
Server

 

Required Experience and skills:

7 years or more experience writing PL/SQL, triggers, and packages in Oracle.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate applied knowledge and good
design principles in these areas. 

Experience with dealing with huge databases (10 TB or more), and tables (100
million - 1billion rows/table)

4 or more years experience with Oracle database performance tuning. The
candidate should be able to demonstrate deep knowledge in areas of database
partitioning, indexes, tablespaces etc. and should have used these
principles for tuning databases

 

10 or more years experience with Oracle 10g or higher and with SQL Server
2008 or higher

 

Date and other relevant internal references: 

Should be available for both phone and face-to-face interviews with Sogeti
and the client

Should be available to start immediately upon confirmation of appointment

The project may require some travel to San Diego
