Job Details: What are the top three technical skills this person must
display? AIX v6.1 LPAR creation, upgrade and patching. AIX v5.3 to V6.1
upgrade IBM power 7 experience
Why is this position open? Project AML-KYC requires the creation of 23
servers, with an estimate 55 hours per server to build.
What type of individual excels best in your environment and why? Someone who
has worked in a larger team because there are opportunities to share
previous experiences and approaches.
What are the top three business expertise or subject matter expertise this
person must display? AIX OS AIX NIM Bladelogic
Summary: Responsible for providing hands-on support and maintenance for
mission critical, high availability database and application server
environment.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline -
preferred. 5+ years experience with systems maintenance in a large
organization providing 24x7 production support and maintenance of mission
critical databases.
Skills and Competencies: Backup and recovery of Oracle and Sybase databases.
Unix Shell Scripting Skills - Bourne or Korn shell is required. Strong
analytical capabilities and organizational skills. Must have a strong
command of the English language; written and oral. Ability to quickly learn
new systems, and business processes. Ability to handle multiple projects and
shifting priorities. Demonstrated troubleshooting experience in fine-tuning
hardware, software, application and server performance issues in
high-pressure situations. Proven track record in leading enterprise
initiatives and making recommendations.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provides technical hands-on data
support, maintenance and oversight. Ensures data management layer is kept up
to date in product lifecycle. Plans and executes upgrades of system
infrastructure as required. Maintain appropriate fault-tolerant data
management posture and formulate recommendations for improvement as needed.
Keeps abreast of new technologies and maintain industry knowledge. Perform
other duties as assigned.
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
