Strong experience in authentication and authorization mechanisms using LDAP servers and single sign on tools Strong experience in performance tuning of applications and capacity planning. Working experience with Oracle database environments Knowledge of ETL technologies, preferably Informatica Experience in supporting IT operations using an onsite/offshore delivery model Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations. Ability to write and maintain technical documentation and procedures Good understanding of the Software development lifecycle Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently as well as in collaboration with a team Ablility to take initiative and work without supervision. Ability to work as a effective team member in a multicultural environment is must Should have excellent interpersonal skill as well as oral and written communication skill * The required qualifications for this position are:* 4-year Bachelor s degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering. Master s degree preferred Minimum of 7 years of Cognos administration, the majority of which should be in Cognos administration in a large scale operation Certification in IBM Cognos BI suite administration *Terms of Reference*: Senior Cognos administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining all aspects of Cognos BI suite and related products administration services with established processes and guidelines. These include, but are not limited to: Install, Configure and manage COGNOS BI Suite including Cognos 8 and Cognos 10 products. Interact with business unit application owners to resolve performance and end-user issues. Works closely with system administrators and database administrators to define the platform requirement, to effect performance tuning and capacity planning Provide support in upgrading existing reports and packages from Cognos BI 8.4 to Cognos 10 as well as resolve development or server specific issues during upgrade process Liase with Cognos Support to resolve all issues regarding to Cognos upgrade. Maintain operational documentation, technical diagrams and business continuity/disaster recovery procedures Participate actively in all aspects of infrastructure projects and technical upgrades Provide Cognos environment provisioning and technical support services to application development projects Perform Cognos environments Backup and Restore activities in close coordination with CBT’s Backup team Participate in security audits and compliance initiatives and ensure the supported environments are fully compliant with IFC security policies and internal controls Provide 24/7 incident response for IFC’s production environment thru established escalation processes Perform R & D activities and manage Infrastructure technical projects. Should be flexible to work in shifts and week ends on need basis in close co-ordination with onsite and offshore team as well as with end users across the globe, in a multi vendor / service provider environment.
