*Job Title: C++ Developer * *Location: New York,NY* *Duration: Longterm, Contract* *Job Description* The developer will be involved in the development of multi-asset electronic Client Connectivity platform serving different product lines in the bank. The role is as an expert developer of the Client Connectivity platform for Credit Suisse, spanning all the businesses including Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and Listed Derivatives. Candidates should have prior experience in the Client Connectivity domain in an Investment Bank, having worked on delivering solutions for mission critical software. *Deliverables Include:* • Design and develop software to build and enhance Client Connectivity platform. • Participate in platform re-engineering to make it more memory efficient, improve performance and recovery • Maintain and provide 3rd level support coverage for the platform. • Hours: Communication would be needed with other locations globally which requires early mornings and/or late evenings. *Qualifications:* • Candidates must have strong experience in development in C++ on Linux. Must have experience with most of the following technologies: • Strong knowledge and working experience in the Client Connectivity domain in software design and development. • Experience with Electronic trading platforms in Equities, Fixed Income or Foreign Exchange • Strong knowledge of FIX engines like Cameron, QuickFIX or similar and FIX protocol. • Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Shell scripts etc. • Strong design and architecture concepts. • C++ STL libraries • Multi-threaded programming and inter-thread communication and control. • TCP/IP Programming • Experience with tools such as Purify and Quantify • Experience in usage of unit testing strategies like UnitTest++ • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, shell script, perl, awk and similar utilities *Summary: * The main function of a developer is to develop, create, and modify Trading Systems. A typical developer is responsible for designing applications or customizing applications for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. *Job Responsibilities:* • Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.• Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.• Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.• Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration. *Skills:* • Strong knowledge of Trading Systems development. • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. • Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time. • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. • Basic knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models. Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required. • 8-10 years experience required.
