The PRPC systems admin will assist with the deployment, operations, monitoring and management of all Product Development and Engineering applications hosted by IT. Primary Result Areas: · Senior level support of one or more applications by ensuring database availability, reliability, and security during all phases of the application’s lifecycle. · Manage various database environments as needed for PRPC applications development, testing and production implementation. · Provide off-hours support as required · Perform lead role in troubleshooting and diagnosing application errors or issues. · Participate in or lead a variety of PRPC application projects by providing expertise in database and system design · Plan, support and perform upgrades to currently installed software products and versions for application, database and operating systems · Ensure proper and consistent communication of status to the end-user and management in accordance with Service Level Agreements by providing timely updates to the case management system Secondary Result areas: · Monitor the performance of supported databases. Conduct performance, stress and volume testing as needed to predict application performance. Assess application, environment, network, or storage issues and make recommendations to improve overall application performance. · Create and review physical database designs. Develop and enforce database design standards. · Develop backup and recovery strategies for databases, as needed. Investigate and deploy necessary tools to efficiently support backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery, approaches. Functional Expertise: · 4+ yrs of PRPC support experience (nice to have) · 5+ years experience with database technologies - strong Oracle (10g /11g) and SQL Server (2005/2008) · 5+ years experience with Operating Systems and virtualization technologies (Solaris, Linux) · Experience with J2EE architecture and application servers (including WebLogic and Apache/Tomcat) · Understands and applies procedures, regulations, and policies related to areas of specialized expertise. · Utilizes technology-based tools and processes · Continuous learning and development · Customer service orientation · Results oriented Behavioral and Interpersonal: · Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service and verbal skills · Customer service focus: Maintains a sharp focus on understanding and meeting the needs of a development support organization and delivers beyond those expectations. · Partnering: Develops internal networks and builds needed alliances. · Communication: Clear and concise in both verbal and written concepts, conversations and plans · Role modeling: Acts consistently with values of the organization. · Teamwork: Works effectively with other departments and within parameters of any given situation. -- *Thanks,* *Samir* *Rider Consulting Inc.* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
