DESCRIPTION:

Manage multiple projects to support Market Risk function for the Corporate 
Risk Office. Coordinate among business users, external data providers and 
various 
IT groups to ensure all aspects of software development projects are 
implemented 
and delivered. The candidate must have knowledge of commodities domain, 
including 
PnL, derivatives, commodity prices, Mark to Market, and sound understanding 
of SAS risk engine. The candidate must possess strong understanding of 
iterative 
software development methodologies, IT Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), 
and IT operational procedures and best practices.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 


• Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration 
with business users and IT business system analysts
• Direct and manage each phase of project execution including requirements 
gathering, software design, development, testing and deployment

·         Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and 
business stakeholders


• Create and manage project plans, project dependencies and resource constraints

·         Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential 
risks, 
and devise contingency plans


• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. 
Develop and publish periodic project progress reports and issues list
• Ensure compliance of project deliverables with company’s standards and best 
practices
• Conduct thorough post project deployment analysis. Document lessons learned 
and improvements for future implementations
• Troubleshoot and solve IT related problems for users and escalate issues 
as required 
• Create and update existing support procedures and automate end of day batch 
processes
• Develop best practices and propose improvements to data warehousing, data 
cleansing and data mining of risk engine’s input and output.
• Ability to drive initiatives that automate processes and eliminate manual 
inputs 
• Manage change control and change management processes to streamline SDLC 
and meet audit & compliance requirements.

 

REQUIREMENTS:


• Understanding of SAS Base, SAS Datasets, SQL, SAS Connect and SAS Macros
• Familiarity with SAS engine architecture and control tables data model
• Familiarity with lookup tables in SAS and experience in ETL and data quality 
controls
• Strong knowledge of commodities domain and commodity contract management 
lifecycle
• Understanding of commodity pricing and positions data, and canonical data 
models
• Experience with enterprise Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and 
iterative 
methodology such as Rational Unified Process (RUP)
• High level understanding of Java Messaging Bus (JMS) and standard integration 
paradigms including publish/subscribe, request/reply and broadcast.
• 5-10yrs of experience in project management and enterprise project management 
tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

DESIRABLE:


• B.S. or M.S. in computer science, statistics, or qualitative field 
• knowledge of statistical distributions and basic understanding of matrix 
calculation
• Experience with financial data models
• Experience with automated software testing tools such as Winrunner and 
Loadrunner
