position:Websphere Developer location:MA duration:6 months Position Summary: The Websphere Developer is responsible for design, implementation, documentation, and day-to-day operation support of SOA based services developed on the Websphere Application Server platform. The position is for an experienced developer with background in Service Oriented Architecture and Websphere SCA services concepts and implementation. This role will be required to design and develop highly complex Enterprise Service application components, and integrations with SOA based and legacy solutions as part of the Enterprise Services middleware solutions
Key Accountabilities: · Ensures SOA based services, components and applications are designed and developed according to the reference architecture that guides the technical architecture, standards, and development patterns. · Performs application development and application integration work necessary to maintain the EDI platform and Shared Services · Use Websphere Eclipse to maintain existing and to create new SCA based services · Ensure the stability and manageability of enterprise services by authoring and communicating standards and best practices for the creation of SCA based services · Analyzes information system requirements, creates designs, develops solutions and provides documentation by utilizing specified tools and methodologies. · Provides software development estimates that accurately reflect the size and resources required of requested activities and is responsible for the final design of the overall architecture of the software solution. · Provides clear, concise, and accurate documentation of all work products. · Ensures applications receive thorough unit, system, and integration testing. · Provides solution support and troubleshooting following deployment. · Provides cross training to personnel responsible for the long term support of the solution and assists in the development of application support training materials. · Provides regular progress reports; updates project plans, risk registers, and issues lists. Key Competencies: 1. Technical Expertise · Extensive experience in Java / J2EE Service Oriented Architecture development and expertise with Web Services and JMS & MQ based communication · Hands on expertise in the following bindings: MQ, JMS, and SOAP/HTTP · Strong demonstrable background in the following technologies: JSP, JDBC, XML/XSD/XSLT, Websphere Application Server (7.x and above), Eclipse, ANT, and Shell Scripting · Familiarity with other technologies – WSDL, REST, WS-* family, FTP family, comms family (sockets, HTTP, MIME) · Knowledge of WESB and DataPower a plus 2. Analytical Thinking · Deep understanding of SOA principals and services design patterns · Service orchestration concepts and implementation 3.
