Of course do all of this while being careful of static. Out of curiosity, with the previous dead card in place, did you get bong, no video, but a lit up keyboard? assuming you have keyboard lights that flash when its found. Does the keyboard light up with the new card at all during the detection

Richmond- Another off-the-wall thought: I've had problems with G4 machines before where the no-video problem was actually caused by a failing battery on the motherboard (the little one in a cradle socket). So you might see if you can find a replacement for that or at least be able to test the exis

Mark, Now it gets wierder. Created a text field. Rebuilt. Grabbed some text from the script editor, from the middle of a line so as not to get a CR. Pasted it into the Ask dialog box, and it pasted it into the filed just fine. Then I grabbed some text from an email window that was open, like I
