Hi,
I thought RR was being touted as the evolution of HyperCard? I have a hard
time believing the dirty flag isn't supported natively. Are you saying it's
not???
Look, I have a ton of cross-platform apps on my drive, but all of them use
the dirty red button to indicate that the file has been
Hi,
How do I make my RR stack run full screen? I don't want to stretch things to
meet the screen, I want to enter a 'full screen mode' like most video games
do, where it temporarily sets the user's monitor resolution to 1024x768 or
something like that.
Thank you !

Hi,
So let me get this straight because I need to take this back with me to the
dev team. You're saying that there's no built in way to actually go full
screen, like most games do? I admit I don't know much about programming, but
I decided on Rev for a game engine, and this is a pretty big deal.

Hi Kay,
The problem is that the 6 month old copy represents 6 months of intense work
trying to get around other bugs in RunRev. There's a lot of stuff in our new
version that isn't in the old version, so I'm afraid that reverting to the
older version, or even doing a comparison between the two is
destination)
Since the dictionary entry for 3.0 no longer mentions the ability to paste
cards, I wonder if this feature has been intentionally removed.

And just a bit more weirdness:
If I go to cd 1, then do 'copy this cd' and then 'paste', it works fine, for
that newly created card.
If I go to my last cd, then do 'paste', it does not work, and the list will
only contain one file, even if more have been made.
However, the last cd and my cd 1

go last card

WTF?

Hi,
Since the system I had built before is failing so spectacularly, I can only
assume I must be doing something wrong, So how would you (anyone?) suggest I
build this?
I need to have an intro screen. On that screen, i want a big list (initially
empty) on the side, and a button that say, new.
Hi Bernard,
Paste, to paste a card, has worked fine in every version of RunRev I've ever
seen, until I guess around 3.0. And like you, sometimes it does, and
sometimes it doesn't crash. It definitely looks like a bug to me!
Thanks,

Hi,
I did not know about clone card. That's a good one. I will try that.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have a really strange and frightening situation on my hands that I'm
trying to make sense of. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd LOVE to hear it.
A few months ago, our users started complaining that things 'suddenly
broke'. This is happening in a standalone app based in RunRev 2.7 or 2.8,
Hi,
The 2.8.1 version of RunRev had a lot of issues on the Mac, ones that we
really couldn't tolerate, so we moved it to another engine. However, we
would like to use RR for our PC version. One hurdle I'm not sure how to
address is one of exporting to a movie. I'd like to export an animation made
data from your HyperCard stacks with DIFfersifier.

Hi,
We have users forcing documents from one of our apps to be opened in another

Hiyo Rev Peoples, I have a problem with our Rev based Windows
application. The data stored by our main program is incredibly complex, so
we write out a Rev based document and populate it with data. This has served
us very well, but we now have found that any one of our apps can open and

Is it acceptable to put serial numbers in the registry, or should I put them
somewhere else?

Hi,
I used to build circuitry for the backlights on portable computer screens,
and this was a common joke among the hardware engineers. Although a funny
hoax, computer screens don't work like that. A black screen requires the
same amount of energy to display as a solid white screen. One exception
Hi,
I appreciate the help with other issues I had earlier, but I still don't
know where to put preference files on a PC. Any thoughts? Do prefs files
even exist on a PC? I want to store my users' serial number somewhere that
my app can reference when it runs. On the Mac, this is going in the

First, thank you everyone who tried to help. In the end, it turned out

Since a few other people are seeing this bug creep up, I thought I'd
post how I fixed it (at least here).
Of course, I tried removing this, that, and the other, until I was

Any suggestions?

Hi,
I have a cross-platform app I wrote in RunRev. I just know very little
about PC programming. I'd like to store a user preference file on
their hard drive. On the Mac, I'll put it in their prefs folder. On
the PC though, where does that go?
Also, is there a way to obtain the MAC address for
