In my project, I created a introductory screen and put a gray background using Chipp's great Interface Designer. On the rest of my cards, I have a white background.
The menubar shows up as black text with a white background except for the introductory screen card. The text of the menubar is black but the background of the menubar is a darker gray. In the Colors and Patterns of the property palette, the background of the menubar has no color for its background.
