importing an image from a window that is offscreen

Is there any way to use the import snapshot command to take an image from a stack that is located to the right or left of the screen? Right now, when I try it, it does not work. Basically, it seems that it does not draw anything that is offscreen, and thus cannot take a picture of it. Can I

Is there any way to use the import snapshot command to take an image from a stack that is located to the right or left of the screen? I would like this ability too, however I don't believe it is currently possible. In these situations, I typically access the imageData to get what I need.

Hi, I don't know what happens to others that use that script, but I have a perfectly working stack here. Works in rev 2.6.1 too. (only made some 2 steps a 1 step) Nevertheless Scott Rossi's proposition works also on hidden and offscreen stacks and is much simpler. Greetings, Wouter On

I am on a pc, using 2.5, and simply importing from the rect does not work - if the image is halfway off the screen, then the imported image will be cut in half! If the image is all the way off the screen, then there is nothing in the imported image. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL

I believe import snapshot offscreen doesn't work on PC's, only on Macs. Just tested it again with 2.6.1. You need to use Wouter or Ken Ray's solution: http://www.sonsothunder.com/devres/metacard/tips/imag007.htm for the PC (At least that's how I do it). best, Chipp
