Hi, Usage of payment type could be of help here. As part of product's advanced accounting configuration, you can specify different GL account(fund source) for different payment types. In effect, a deposit/withdrawal transaction using such payment type would actually use the specified GL account.

No, creating a unique general ledger account for every customer not practical. The fix for this has been spec’d out here: https://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/display/MIFOSX/Ability+to+Enter+Account+to+General+Ledger+Entry+and+Vice+versa

Hello - The real use scenario is that in Belize, customers can make “bill payments” at a bank to a merchant account. One of these merchants is a local credit union for deposits and/or loan payments. The credit union debits the bank account general ledger cash account and credits the customer
