Sorry, in the previous email, I meant to say: when I run with only
-yj giraph-examples-1.1.0-hadoop-2.5.1-jar-with-dependencies.jar
the container log complains that it did not contain giraph-core and those
were the resulting errors.

Alessandro,
I'm not sure what you mean, should I create a new user on my system
named 'yarn'? I'm new to both hadoop and giraph, so I'm not sure.
Tripti,
I'll get those logs as soon as I can.
Thank you both,

Alessandro,
Sorry I didn't get back to you. I have 3 VMs right now and have gotten
confused about which hadoop/giraph configuration I have on each. I will get
back to this thread once I have regained awareness of which VM has that
error. Thanks,

Greetings,
I have been trying different things to get a working giraph install.
The most recent attempt is the following:
I installed oracle java jdk 1.8.0 and maven 3.2.3 the installed hadoop
2.5.1. The hadoop install works. I then cloned the giraph repository from
https://github.com/apache/
Greetings,
Alessandro, I keep getting the same errors you were getting but from
reading the thread, I still cannot figure out how to remedy it. Could you
please break down how you solved this issue? Thank you
