I had the same issue with MySQL and putting under
"/usr/share/tomcat8/.guacamole" resolved the issue,
Directory tree looks like below
.guacamole
extensions
guacamole.properties
lib
user-mapping.xml
guacamole.properties file as below
guacd-hostname: localhost
guacd-port:
Does not work, Ended up with bad result.
