I am trying to build Hadoop from source code, and I am able to successfully
build until the Hadoop-Common-Project. However, in case of HDFS the test
called TestHftpURLTimeouts is failing

jira and see whether this is a known issue. Else, please file it, and if
possible, provide a patch. :)
