Hi Paula, I am not sure how to answer your questions but is there a reason why you are using an EC2 instance instead of amazonz EMR (elastic Map reduce) Hadoop cluster. As far as I know you can set that up to work with HDFS setup as well as S3 buckets if you don’t need a long term cluster to st
