I have a Single-Node Cluster (Hadoop-2.6.0) with few TB of HDFS data. I want to upgrade to Hadoop-2.8.0. I looked at the documentations but not able to get exact steps to upgrade. I tried "start-dfs.sh -upgrade" and I can see few logs saying upgrading from fs=60 to fs=63 but then no logs showing the progress. Namenode stays in SAFEMODE forever. I followed rollbackUpgrade guide from official documents but the steps are confusing to me ( I am a newbie). Please help. How do I do upgrade. PS: HDFS contains 3 Million files approx.
