How many nodes are there in zookeeper quorum ?
Zookeeper glitch may lead to region assignment inconsistency but the corrupted
HFiles should be due to other reason (have you analyzed region server log
?).

Will a hard reboot of zookeeper leader node cause inconsistencies to HBase
