I agree - with a new project today you should probably start with JDK 21 (LTS) - it has matured for years now.I have also the observation that a couple of third party libraries (eg spring) do not support anymore JDK8 and thus security fixes etc are not provided for those.Am 18.01.2024 um 11:14 schr

Other than the thread that Roman noted, I'm not aware of any specific plans to move away from Java 8 for Ignite 2.x. As a community-driven project, there are no guarantees but you'll probably be okay for a year or so. Worst case, you can build your own Java 8-compatible version. Having said that,
