I guess that it's a matter of time when the role-based access gets added to
Ignite.
Version 2.5 already goes with username/password authentication:

Hope that much more is to come.

It depends on what you want to achieve by this isolation.
If you want to create separation between data of different applications and
dedicate some limited volume for each one, then it could be a right
approach.
If your applications doesn't have any data dependencies, then you can even

One thing that comes to my mind is, we can create different data regions and
put the cache needed for specific application in these data regions. Is this
the right approach ?

There is no such possibility in Ignite, as far as I know.
You will have to implement a security layer on top of Ignite yourself, if
you want to have such functionality.
