HI, I use Windows 7 operating system. I have recently started working on Pig and Hadoop. I have no previous experience on both hadoop and pig. I have installed Cygwin so that I can make hadoop and Pig work on my windows system. I have untarred Pig0.9.2 as well as Hadoop1.0.0. I have set enviornment variables of HADOOP_HOME, HADOOP_PREFIX and PIG_HOME. Also I have added the path till bin folder for hadoop and pig in the path enviornment varialble. Still when I run the first basic command pig -help I get an error saying that Cannot locate pig-withouthadoop.jar. if I rename the pig-0.9.2-withouthadoop.jar to pig-withouthadoop.jar Pig works fine otherwise it give the error mentioned above. I dont know what is going wrong here any help will be highly appreciated.
