I don't know why, I had simply not seen the SSSish render-/effects-settings.
Thanks to you I now have and the material works - and looks good!

It's a bit timeconsuming to compute though, but I suppose that's normal.
Would of course be cool if a more sophisticated and fast(er) SSS
