If you use a partitioning tool, like Gnu parted, from within the guest, you
can actually partition your simulated disc. After that, this
think its because my machine is 2.6 Ghz.

I've just compiled the kernel 2.4.25 and applied the UML patch 2.4.25-1 to it. I am running a machine that has SUSE Linux 9.0 and the kernel version is 2.4.21.99.
My root file system is one that I downloaded from the website "root_fs_slack8.1.bz2".
