2014-11-03 13:10:59,805 DEBUG [xen.resource.CitrixResourceBase] (DirectAgent-13:null) 1. The VM i-2-21-VM is in Starting state. 2014-11-03 13:10:59,886

Unfortunately you cannot run CloudStack Management Server on a XenServer (or ESXi) Host it is managing. It works for KVM because CloudStack and KVM are running as services on CentOS, CloudStack is not running as a VM on KVM. You do have a couple of options however: Install Virtualbox and then

Actually, you can have CS running on a Xen server host that it is running; however it is a little bit tricky, because when you add a xen server, the CS does not load any VM configuration that it already has running. I did that myself in the Cloud that we have in our networking and management lab.

Hi Rafael. That's certainly a clever way of getting it to work, however if you were to put the Host into maintenance mode, or reboot it, all the VMS would stop and you would have no way of restarting them. The original poster is new to CloudStack and needs to learn how it works. I don't

I see, the doc states Vbox (and XenServer) most likely a nested deployment https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/DevCloud DevCloud is now capable of using either the VirtualBox (and XenServer) or KVM hypervisors. You only need to choose one of these, and then following either

You are right, I am just using this deployment, because I have an environment with more than 1 server. We actually have 3 clusters, and we spread the system vms (router and etc) and CS vms (database, CS1, CS2 and apache) into different clusters. So, if I for some odd reason I need to restart a

Thanks for all replies. As Geoff said I am new to the complete topic CloudStack. I worked only with XenServer in the past and now evaluate CloudStack which I think seems to be the better option for XenServer as OpenStack. Of course it should be more easier to create a VM for the management

Pure Xen deployment is not yet supported (Am I wrong?). When I said Xen in my mail I meant (Xenserver or Xen + XCP). BTW: I use Xen hypervisor with XCP packages or a debian distro in my physical hosts. On Sun, Nov 2, 2014 at 1:44 PM, Matthias Müller matthiasmuelle...@web.de wrote: Thanks for

Hi Raphael, I see how with multiple XenServers you could actually run the CloudStack and MySQL VMS on them, and with carefull management move VMs around for Host restarts etc. I agree that one server a cloud does not make, and really even the smallest test environment should have at least two
