Dear all,
I have an ACS 4.9 test environment after upgraded from 4.2, using Ubuntu OS
and KVM hypervisor.
I am seeing below error messages on the management server logs after
upgrading to ACS 4.9.0, is it normal?

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the response and information.
We would like to stay away from having to use iSCSI to interface with
the Ceph environment.
In which ACS version has the bug been fixed?
Last I checked on the bug report, it has not been fixed.

Hi,
TL;DR; you can't. XenServer 6.5 just doesn't support RBD backends.
There are projects to integrate RBD-SR into XenServer 7, I don't know
if projects like https://github.com/rposudnevskiy/RBDSR will make it
into XenServer upstream.
A while ago, I closed that gap by using iSCSI in between. The

I think the source code of 4.9 will be more or less the same.
I missed another bit of code. Lines 1087 – 1094. “if (_pifs.get("private")

It tries to look for a file at “/sys/class/net/" + _guestBridgeName. If it

Hi Rafael,
Thanks for your reply.
Here's the output of the command:

The program 'ovs-vsctl' is currently not installed. You can install it by
typing:
apt-get install openvswitch-switch

Hi,
I have been doing a lot of searching to find out or work out how to get
ACS 4.8 to work with XenServer 6.5 with a Ceph backend.
Currently I am only able to find outdated articles with experimental
code being tested.
A little background:

Is I recall correctly, there is an old PR sitting out there to address this.

Hi, Anonymous fellow ;)
Let’s see if I can help you a little bit. I am checking the ACS 4.9 source
code.
The error is thrown at line 896 of class
“com.cloud.hypervisor.kvm.resource.LibvirtComputingResource”.
The condition that causes the error is “_pifs.get("private") == null”.
“_pifs” if a map. T
I would be inclined to say it is not possible to avoid a little bit of
downtime (at least not with we have today in ACS). People have worked to
reduce the downtime (starting at 4.8 or 4.9, I do not recall the precise
version right now), but I think we have not achieved a stage that we

Hi,
Sorry to bring up an old question, just want to ask again if anyone knows
if we can upgrade ACS and avoid the downtime caused when the VRs are being
upgraded?
Looking forward to your reply, thank you.
Cheers.

Hi,
We are using ACS version 4.2 / 4.9 on our test environment. We are using
Ubuntu 12.04 as the operating system and KVM as the hypervisor.
We are trying to simulate an upgrade from ACS 4.2 to 4.9 and roll-back from
4.9 to 4.2 on our test environment. The upgrade went smooth, and the
roll-back w
Hi Oreki,
A couple of things to check:
- Can you ping the gateway 172.16.135.254 ?
- If you can ping this – have you got any network ACLSs / firewall rules
blocking traffic?
- If you check on your hypervisor – is the SSVM eth2 interface connected to the
right network / vSwitch and the right V
Ok, thanks for help.
I will try with different IPs, and then try to change them in database.
