Hi sai,
There are chances that management server is unable to reach VR. You may
want to check if ports 80 and 8080 are open to management network on VR.
Check it out by running curl from management server towards the VR.

It looks like the Virtual router that is responsible for the network is not
reachable or is not up, you could Restart the network with Clean up option
and then try to deploy the VM again, it should help this time.

I did not notice the versions you mentioned.
if the events tab is available in 4.19 but not in 4.17, can you upgrade to 4.19

I am sure and open it in incognito. I don't even get events that the Kuber
cluster was successfully created, I only get events about the cluster being
deleted.

It might be a browser cache issue or a UI issue
