How to replace Primary Storage

2015-12-04 Thread Amir Abbasi
Hi, I've added a new Primary Storage to a VMware zone and want to replace that with old one. Both of them are VMFC (FC). What do you recommend for live migration? What would happened if I enable maintenance mode for old Primary storage? Thanks

Live migration across primary storages is not supported by cloudstack. If you enable maintenance mode of primary all the Vms using it will be stooped. On 05/12/15, 11:49 AM, "Amir Abbasi" wrote: >Hi, > > > >I've added a new Primary Storage to a VMware zone and want to replace that >with ol

Hey Amir, this should be doable behind the scenes with vCenter. It will involve live storage migration, then massaging the cloudstack db (volumes table pool_id and folder references). If snapshots are involved, its a bit more involved. On Fri, Dec 4, 2015 at 10:19 PM, Amir Abbasi wrote: > Hi, >

I agree with Stephan, Live migration between Hosts with their own primary local storage works totally fine with ACS 4.5 and XenServer 6.5. I tried it not only between hosts within the same cluster but also between hosts belonging in different cluster. The same concept works fine also with ACS
