Due to security issue, users can no longer add extraconfig via vm settings.
Please use updatevm with extraconfig instead. It is not supported on UI for
now, you can use cmk

Thanks for the quick response. I was trying from the UI only and the error
message was not clear as it says Please update VirtualMachine with
extraconfig parameter.

extraconfig is more guarded now, yes, but still should be working fine.

Yes, that's exactly it.
Only modifying Constrained VM settings doesn't work, the rest work fine.

We are still in the process of experimenting with vGPU (on Centos7 and kvm).
Extraconfig is a super option, everything works as planned, CloudStack is great
