Hi,
I am new to Cocoon and am using 2.1.8. I have set up
an aggregation pipeline. Before the aggregation is
enabled, an action needs to be invoked, which will
generate a map. My question is how to let other
pipelines (map:part) access this map. I tried
{../name} in the part's pipeline. But,

That is interesting but the Cocoon CLI offers much, much more; especially if you already have a Cocoon Sitemap. It takes a bit of getting your head around but, in short, the Cocoon CLI recurses through the site triggering all the pipelines and saving the output. This article was very useful for
Hello all,
I have the following entry in my sitemap, in the transformer section:

What is the best way to handle hibernate sessions in flow?
At the moment Im using a servlet filter to close sessions after each
request but this makes it awkward when dealing with objects that span a number
of requests but are within one flow function (Im using flowscript). I

Ok, I've been trying some things and I found that my setup does work, just not
with my page.
It seems that the encodeUrl transformer only works when I put the s href=

Hi,
we are using Cocoon 2.1.8 and have a form for creating a new object.
That means there is no data loaded into the form but only saved from the
form to a XML document.
The binding using a binding file uses XML namespaces, which seems to be
the only difference to some of the samples, where one
Hi Mark,
we had the same problem with Hibernate. I solved it with a "flow"
wrapper. This wrapper wraps the flow interpreter of your choice (tested
with javaflow a lot, simple tests with _javascript_, but should not give
big problems), opens a new session when the flow is first accessed
No offense, but from a user's perspective they are still two very
different ways of going about it.
btw, you mention Cocoon CLI as another option; it's how forrest
site is implemented.

Hi Peter,
To get namespaces to bind in 2.1.8 i found you need to set
namespace-prefixes to true for the xml-parser in your cocoon.xconf
file. 2.1.8 also has some bugs in the repeater binding which prevents
the propagation of namespaces in the binding file.

Hi
I was looking into the Castor and integration with cocoon and was
pleased to find that there is a way of doing it. Unfortunately, I cannot
seem to find the documentation for it or any of the source code and all
references to the scratchpad (what is that anyway) do not seem to exist.

Hi
What is the best practice for handling exceptions in an xsp? Is there a
way of passing errors to the log?
Thanks.

I don't think the attribute method will work, since when it
goes through the pipeline it will not fire a startPrefixMapping()
call.
I ended up sticking a simple transformer in my pipeline
that would add in the namespace declaration to the root element. However it

I would like to create an action on a repeater that copies some of the
values of a row into a group of other fields (the fields having similar
sort of values). This action should take place when an action on a row
is selected.
Here are the relevant parts of the code :
