Well, after diving the Silicon Image data book and looking at the
OpenBSD and Linux driver code for it I figured I could do a full
driver using the AHCI driver as a base, and I figured I could do it in
three days.
Could it be that your Xeon and C2D have different performance
characteristics?
Maybe your Xeon computer has a higher FSB and greater memory bandwidth,
or perhaps it has a bigger L2 and L3 cache?
