we can discard any USB issue.
Also which program are you using to do the copy? Have you tried
cpdup/rsync? Is there a consistency in the size of the files (ie. mp3s,
movies) or is it completely

Boot with the LiveCD and see what's in /dev/serno. For every hard
disk which has a serial number you will find a bunch of entries
there, so you would just need to mount it by serial number instead
of disk name.

Try to boot up SMP, then panic the system (Ctrl+Alt+Esc). Reboot it from
