Your Enoglish is no worse than my German. With 1.1.2, I believe you have to install the German dictionary, hyphenation dictionary and Thesaurus after installation. 1.1.2 is old and I do not recall whether or not there is an AutoPilot to Install new dictionaries. Since German is your first language, you might prefer to communicate on users@de.openoffice.org I have cc that list and encourage you to seek answers there.
