I don't have OpenOffice installed and I am getting the exact same downloading
problem. I currently have only LO 3.4 installed.

I have now tried to download the LibreOffice 3.4.x version, and it still won't
download. I keep getting the same error message, i.e., close down the older
version and the quick installer before updating. Nothing works.
