I tracked this down to a problem using pcl5. If you can use a postscript
driver the problem goes away

Just to confirm I have put openSuse on this machine
and it works fine - same machine, same printer, same
document - the document looks OK on screen and in the
little preview in the print dialog and comes out OK on paper
This is great for me, but I have 500 XP machines ;-(

In OpenOffice 3.2.1 vanilla and Go-oo it works fine ( and MS Office )
It just doesn't in LibreOffice 3.3
The printer supports A5,A4 and A3 and has trays for each
