I am not sure how or why this is affecting your formulas, but the period
"." character is a meaningful character to Calc. It is used in sheet
references, as in:
=Projects.D2
^
Where "Projects" is the sheet name and "D2" is the cell reference in
that sheet.

I don't know what exactly Language settings require to LO
restart, but if you follow the steps that I suggested probably work
because It works for me and probably for you too as you told us.

I continued to fiddle with the language settings.
I'm not sure what I changed but LO said that the changes required a
restart. So I did the restart and now it works! I can't figure out
what exactly changed to cause the restart but it looks like it's OK now.
