Can we alter the submitted job resources using qalter for interactive jobs
(jobs submitted using qrsh) as well
For ex :
qalter -l h_vmem=5G job_id
can you let me know if it is applicable only for the pending jobs or running
jobs also.

I found a problem with openMPI jobs when I set the $TMP/$TMPDIR to an
nfs mounted storage. OpenMPI (version 1.8.4 with intel) writes out an
error message that it will create some files there which might slow
